Decorate your home with homemade decorations without breaking the bank.
I don’t know about you guys, but around this time of year, I feel the need to start decorating my home for the holidays. So, let your family and friends feel the warmth of this Holiday Season, by decorating your home with handmade decorations and centerpieces.
After making a quick stop to my favorite dollar store, I couldn’t help but notice all of the new Holiday decorations. I am always amazed at just how many great items you can find for just one dollar!
While browsing through the decorations, I was inspired to create my own centerpiece.
This project was incredibly simple and took minutes to create. My table now looks very elegant and expensive all for under $6. I already had the glass candle holder and candle. Making this project even better.
Materials (all from dollar store):
* 1 bouquet of faux Poinsettia flowers
* 1 bouquet of faux glittered fruit
* 3 bouquets of different flower arrangements
* Floral wire
* Wire cutters
* Large Glass candle holder or empty mason jar (the one I use is about 7” long)
* Large Pillar Candle
You will need to make a base out of the wire for your centerpiece. Make a circle with the wire. Overlap the wire a couple of times to make it sturdy enough.
Cut the faux plastic poinsettias and the other floral arrangements (ex. glittered fruit) about 3 inches below the heads. Arrange the poinsettias and ornaments evenly around the base. Then start wrapping them around the wire base with the remaining wire. Cut off any excess wire using the wire cutters. Be careful not to poke yourself with the ends. Optional, you may want to buy green floral tape to cover the wire once you are finished.
Once they are in place manipulate the poinsettias and ornaments until you get the desired look.
Finally, place the glass candleholder in the center and add a large pillar candle.
